Mirta’s life was taken from her in the most brutal and disgusting way. A profit over patient hospital took her life. 

On October 24, 2025, Mirta went into Park West Emergency room for pain in her stomach. They transfered her to their main hospital HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital., where she was told she would have to undergo a surgery to remove her gallbladder. 

During her first surgery, conducted by an unlicensed in Florida, traveling surgeons direction, the resident doctor performing the surgery had perforated her bowels in 2 spots. After the traveling surgeon performed his inspection, he stated all was fine and she was transferred to a post surgical unit. During her 2 days on this unit, we had noticed the lack of attention and compassion begin. Nurses on their personal cell phones as our mom was trying to use a walker to get back to the bathroom, laughing and allowing our mother to almost fall. As our mother explained to them she was in pain, they continued to ignore her and gave het Tylenol, saying it was normal. We witnessed her scream in agony for 2 days, as her temp rose to 104 degrees.  Finally, a surgeon had said that her labs showed a possibility of “sepsis” and wanted to bring her back to the OR for exploratory Surgery. Once having her down their, they discovered the tears and performed a surgery that removed 45cm of her bowel, because it was unfixable. At this point, the sepsis took over and attacked her raspatory system, thus making her be forced to use a ventilator for 6 days. After this surgery, they were unsure if there were more issues, so they left her open and brought her to the ICU. In 1 week, they brought her to the OR 3 times for her abdomen, and 1 time for a bronchoscopy to help with the raspatory issues.
